Clifton Colts 15 - 14 Old Patesians Glos Cup Final 22/04/2012 PDF Print E-mail
In the Gloucestershire County Cup Clifton Colts beat Old Patesians 15 : 14 in a match every bit as close as the scoreline suggests.

Clifton's victory was based squarely on the performance of their forwards, a dominant front row and an outstanding lineout meant that the impressive Old Pats fly half was starved of quality possession for long periods.

Clifton Colts 43 - 16 Orewa College NZ PDF Print E-mail

Clifton Colts beat Orewa College from North Harbour, New Zealand,  43pts to 16

From the start the heavier Clifton forwards were on top, able to exert pressure in all areas of the pitch and after five minutes flanker Mike Brook broke down the blindside to score in the corner. Twin brother Nick Brook then broke from his own 10 metre line to score an excellent solo try under the posts with captain Will Watson adding the conversion. The very mobile Orewa side started to get their tails up and were able to score two penalties, the second from 47 metres. 12 6 at half time.

Clifton Colts hosted Cinderford Colts in the Gloucestershire Junior County Cup on Sunday and came away with a narrow and well fought victory 15-12. The win was more rewarding as Cinderford came into the match undefeated for the season.

As expected it was a hard fought game against a strong and very well organised side so not surprising it was the visitors who took the game to Clifton from the first whistle and dominated the opening 15 minutes. However against the run of play Clifton scored a try from a 5m lineout with a catch and drive, Max Creswall getting the score.
