Clifton 32 -

42 Canterbury |
Clifton did not get their season off to the start they hoped for when the long trip to Kent ended with a narrow loss. Clifton did pick up a bonus point after scoring four well worked tries and were still in the hunt during the last play going for the win whilst only three points down but were turned over for Canterbury to secure a well earned victory.
Clifton were unfortunate to suffer a number of injuries
throughout the game with all substitutes being required, three of them
early on, and did cope well with the disruption this caused but will
still be disappointed not to have capitalised on the leads that they
established. For their part Canterbury were well worth the win and
provided as stern a test as Clifton expected. Clifton will now need to
regroup and focus on improving their performance for their first home
game next weekend which is potentially even more difficult being a local
derby against Dings.
Meanwhile the second team put in a very good performance beating
Avonmouth 2s very convincingly in the new reserve league. More to come
on other teams results - any team news and results send to
