under17swinners.jpgClifton Rugby Club’s Under 17 team has enjoyed a hugely successful season winning both the Rugby Football Union’s National shield, the Gloucestershire County Shield and the Bristol Combination 7 a side tournament.

The proud history of Clifton Rugby Club is underlined y the fact that many of the boys have parents and even grandparents who continue to serve the club and coach this team which has been successful since their Under 7 days!


 

Team captain Will Watson is the grandson of Grant a former President and Club Captain.  Head Coach is John Carr former Bristol and Clifton legend and father of Matt. George Cumberlidge’s parents are club stalwarts Tina and Pete----Tina  coached this team as Under 7s   and was influential with Jill Boot [son Thomas and husband Martyn of Boots Bandits XV] in establishing women’s rugby

Other strong links are Nick and Mike Brook [father Andy], Ed Suchy [father Karl] and Alfie Cotton[[father Mike]

Many players are in the Bristol Academy, Glos County team and Bristol Schools.

The future of the Clifton Senior team looks secure in National Leagues  with this crop of players on the way through!
