Clifton Village Features Strongly in Shirt Sponsorship Raffle Winners PDF Print E-mail
firstxvhomeblank201112.pngClifton Rugby Club has announced its main kit sponsors for the 2011-12 season which will kick off with the traditional home “friendly” fixture against Bristol on Sunday August 21st at Cribbs Causeway.

John Titcombe Jewellers of The Mall in Clifton Village were the winners of the Clifton Shirt Sponsorship Raffle and will have their logo emblazoned on 1st XV shirts for the coming season in National League fixtures.

Their sponsorship underlines a growing involvement of Clifton businesses in their local rugby club.

Clifton President, John Raine, adds “Clifton Rugby Club fully appreciates that businesses based in Clifton Village are showing increasing support of the club. Our beginnings and history are closely related to the Village and as well as being a National League team we are very much a community club catering from Under 7s upwards”

Hartnell Taylor Cook
will also feature on the new kit. Simon Harvey, a Partner, is a former fly half and leading points scorer for the club.

Turners Coachways who safely carry our team to away matches also feature. We thank Tony and his
team for their “transportation”, match ball and now kit sponsorship.

Clifton Sausage Restaurant remains very popular “man of the match” sponsors-----our thanks to Simon Quarrie and his team and well done to the Sausage team in the recent Bristol 10k----the rugby boys are monitoring your fitness!

Sharp’s Brewery producers of the excellent Doom Bar remain as main sponsors of Clifton Rugby Club.

Local businesses keen to be involved with Clifton RFC are asked to contact Roger Opie

Salts Runs the Marathon

Clifton coach Matt Salter runs in the London marathon today in aid of the British Forces Foundation - you can visit his Just Giving page by clicking here. From his Just Giving page:

After finishing playing rugby rather than take it easy and enjoy gaining the pounds I've decided to challenge myself by running the London Marathon.
This kind of challenge is going to lead me into unknown territory in terms of physical endurance. It will either be a great day or a very painful sight seeing tour.
I am raising money for the Brisitsh Forces Foundation and it goes without saying what a fantastic cause this is.
