Clifton face Hartpury College at home on Saturday (KO 2:30) keen to continue where they left off with their victory away against Lydney last weekend. They will be looking for another powerful performance against a team who are in the promotion battle with the top 5 teams in the league.

Clifton have been improving week by week this season as the team gels together and the hard and precise work on the training field under the direction of Matt Salter and his coaches begins to pays off. They will want this improvment to continue this week.

Hartpury are certainly a good team, very comfortable on the ball and powerful in attack and defence. John Barnes, who spent 10 seasons at Clifton and was a successful head coach for 3 seasons, has been part of the coaching team at Hartpury since the start of the season. He is now their head coach.

In other games the Wanderers play Cleve at home, the Bandits play North Bristol also at home and the Nomads take on Southmead away.

Minis and Juniors continue again on Sunday for a round up of last weeks minis click here.

Salts Runs the Marathon

Clifton coach Matt Salter runs in the London marathon today in aid of the British Forces Foundation - you can visit his Just Giving page by clicking here. From his Just Giving page:

After finishing playing rugby rather than take it easy and enjoy gaining the pounds I've decided to challenge myself by running the London Marathon.
This kind of challenge is going to lead me into unknown territory in terms of physical endurance. It will either be a great day or a very painful sight seeing tour.
I am raising money for the Brisitsh Forces Foundation and it goes without saying what a fantastic cause this is.
