 Clifton   10 -
 26 Richmond

Clifton put in another good performance to continue their good form but lost out to the promotion chasing Richmond on Saturday. They were disappointed with the final score and to not pick up a losing bonus point after leading at half time and pressing strongly for periods in the second. However, Richmond are a strong and talented all round team and were able to score three second half tries to gain a bonus point win.

Clifton now have a week off from league action but will play Thornbury away in the semi final of the combination cup on Saturday.

Clifton will be pleased with the performance despite the scoreline but will now need to regroup before the wider squad get to stake their claim for a spot in the combination cup game away against Thornbury and an important game at home to Barnes the following week. After the latest round of matches the league is incredibly tight with no teams falling away and Clifton will need to continue to improve to hit the targets they have set themselves.

The Clifton Sausage man of the match was Will Pomphrey. For the evening post report click here , for the Richmond report click here.

In other games the wanderers went down 22 - 13 away to Old Patesians but the Bandits scored a hard fought win over Cleve 3rds 15 - 12, unfortunately the pitch was not fit for the Nomads game.

The Colts also completed a fine victory over a previously undefeated Cinderford colts click here for the report in the Gloucestershire cup - great that the colts are up and running again this season, I know a number of them have already made their senior debuts, hopefully more will feature in years to come for Clifton.
