The Capella Foundation has been born to help increase awareness of medical complications during pregnancy - the supported charity of the 1st XV

After hearing we had lost one of our babies, we wanted to make sure she was never forgotten. We decided to name her after a star.

A brave group of friends is taking on 24 solid hours of exercise in aid of a pregnancy charity.

Saturday will see the third annual 24in24 event, held in aid of the Capella Foundation.

Set up in 2013, the foundation was started by Lucy and Mat Britton from Westbury-on-Trym, after they lost one of their unborn twins due to pregnancy complications.

Since then, the couple have been tirelessly raising money for the foundation, in the hopes of helping other families.

This year's event promises to be the biggest ever, with events including running, a car pull, boxing, zumba and a bleep test.

It is being kicked off at 12pm at Canford Park, and members of the public are invited to join in one of the events.

You can join in for an hour with any event from touch rugby to yoga.

The foundation is asking for a £5 donation, and there will also be live music, cake sales and food and drink being sold over the weekend.

After the running event at Canford Park, the rest of the 24 hours will continue at David Lloyd gym in Westbury-on-Trym.

Last year, the participants and their supporters raised £15,000 for the foundation, which was all donated to research projects.

The foundation was created to increase awareness of medical complications during pregnancy, as well as funding new medical research.

Lucy said: "The event last year was an incredible success, with a fantastic turn out. From those who came along and competed in the 24in24 fitness events, to supporters, cake makers and donators, it was an amazing atmosphere with a great mixture of hard work, determination, smiles and laughs. We are hoping this year will be even better."
