Battle for 6th intensifies with visit of mid-table rivals

we have focused a lot on ourselves this week; we have spent the time getting our detail right and ensuring we know our game management and how to execute. We need to regain some consistency that has been lacking the last 2 games.

Clifton have named a strong side to take on mid-table rivals BSE when they arrive at Station Road on Saturday. Currently lying in 8th, just 2 points ahead of the Lavender & Blacks, the game promises to be a crucial battle in the pursuit of 6th place come the end of the season.

Clifton welcome back a number of key players following the week break and will look to gain some consistency in their game following a narrow loss to Henley and then the heavy defeat at the hands of Old Albanians.

Callum Simpson is recalled to the front row with Jack Spencer returning from injury to partner Hooker Jack Williams. Matty Davies and Henry Harper once again form the second row partnership, with both men looking to establish some dominance in the lineout. Niall Gibbons is unavailable following his red card against OA's so Dan Hill slots in at 8 with former BSE flanker Matthew Hall on the Blindside and Gloucester Academy's Cam Terry at 7.

Mitch Spencer partners Luke Cozins at 10, with Sam Goatley at 12. Captain Chris Levesley makes his return to action and wears 13 whilst the back 3 consist of Gloucester Academy duo Jake Morris and Reece Dunn; both of whom have impressed since making their debuts for Clifton. Record try scorer Will Pomphery returns from a long lay off to take his place on the right wing.

The bench sees Mark Roberts, Beno Edwards and Shek Sheriff cover the pack with Ross Pritchard and Alex Lambert completing the 20.

"We have focused a lot on ourselves this week, we have looked at Bury and done our homework, but we have spent the time getting our detail right and ensuring we know our game management and how to execute. We've been inconsistent over the last 2 games, so we need to get that balance right on Saturday against a good Bury side."
