On a glorious Summer's day, the 1st XV ran out for the first time against visitors and old friends Hartpury College.
Director of Rugby Darren Lloyd commented, "these games are important, it's a few weeks until the regular season starts and a test against an established side teaches us a lot".
Hartpury brought an extensive squad and their established status in national league one showed in some well drilled on-field moves. The try tally, 5 to 2, shows an entertaining game and Clifton showed endeavour, energy and a great spirit.
"It's not fun losing, even against a higher ranked side. We learned what to work on and the boys are already looking forward to the next pre-season match in 2 weeks", said Darren.
There was a good crowd and atmosphere at the match which bodes well for the season ahead.
See you in two weeks - bring some friends and let's get behind the team!
