Taunton look to settle score in Clifton Rugby derby.

Some people will say that Taunton threw the game away with poor discipline, tackling and set piece however you have to capitalise on a team’s mistake and take your opportunities and Clifton did just this.
- Keith Brooking - Taunton Home Match Report

Clifton Rugby come off a high after last weekend's victory over Worthing Raiders. The side who named a 20 man squad turned up to the away fixture with just 19 men as a player dropped out that morning due to unforeseen circumstances. The Clifton side faced a hefty challenge but ground out a resilient performance to secure the game with a try in the last quarter. They come into this week's training with high spirits but remain grounded in the approach to the challenge they face this weekend.

Late October last year Clifton Rugby made the short journey down the M5 corridor to the centre of Somerset. Taunton started the game well, but a pumped up Clifton side came back from a 12 point deficit to nip the victory 30-32.

"In a typical physical local derby, with 4 tries apiece it was the visiting side that wanted it more and it showed in the end with Clifton coming from behind to claim the deserved victory." Keith Brooking, Taunton Supporter (Match Report Editor).

We now host the Titans this Saturday at Station Road. Taunton sit comfortably in 5th position, though a victory could see them move to a top three position.

Though any league movement for our 1st XV seems unlikely the side will want nothing less than a win in what has always been a very exciting local derby fixture.
