The kick off this game was delayed by 40 minutes as Clifton as they were held up on the motorway by roadworks and a traffic accident.. They arrived 20 minutes after the scheduled start and they had little to make their final preparations for the game.

Despite this they had the better of the the early exchanges and it was against the run of play when went behind after 10 minutes when following an offence on the try line the home side were awarded a penalty try which fly half Sam Guttridge converted.
Clifton struck back almost immediately when No 8 Andy Chesters went over following a line out drive with fly half Brad Barnes adding the conversion.

The visitors proceeded to dominate through their backs but they could not break through their sound defense and they were unable to convert several driving line outs into points.

Guttrigg added a penalty and then No 8 Robbie Stapley and prop James Baker both went over from close range following line line outs one of which was converted.and dominated.

The visitors looked sharper after the break and were unlucky to go further behind when winger behind when wing Will Pomphrey lost possession and Olly Foxley raced down the side line to score a converted try. The lead was stretched to 22 points when replacement Nightingale went over for a converted try. followed by winger Jack Rossiter.

Clifton then produced their best rugby of the afternoon of the afternoon and a outstanding move ended with centre Sam Harrison crossing.

They were firmly in control dominating the closing stages with scrum half Jack Pinkar and Pomphrey crossing with both being converted by Barnes.The last try resulted in them picking a rare try scoring bonus away from home which they thoroughly deserved.

Loose head prop Jack Steadmen who played for Clifton 5 seasons won the Rams man of the match reward
