The poor weather did nothing to dampen spirits at the station road ground today, as fans gathered to witness the Ben Tarasiuk and James Quinn memorial match. The match aimed to raise funds for Mind, Children's Hospice South-west and the Gurkha Welfare trust's Nepal earthquake relief fund.
From referees taking conversions, to the introduction of an oversized ball, the match was played in high spirits, with both teams always looking to entertain. In addition to the game, there were various other fund raising events on offer such as face-painting and a charity raffle. There was even a world record attempt for most passes of a rugby ball in a minute.
The club would like to thank everyone that came down today. It is on day's such as these when the community spirit of not only the club, but of the rugby community on a whole really comes to the forefront. We would also like to thank the families of both Ben and James for their involvement in the day as well.
