Large sand dunes have appeared in the Club car park as pitch renovations get underway.

Just as the sand dunes, heaped one upon another, hide each the first, so in life the former deeds are quickly hidden by those that follow after.

At the end of each season the Club starts an extensive and careful playing surface renovation.

All of our grass pitches are earthquaked, spiked, sanded, seeded and watered.

The process takes most of the Summer and is the reason we have the best grass pitches in the region and the fewest cancellations and waterlogged grass.

Unsurprisingly, none of this intensive care comes cheap and this year is no exception...

Costings will be around £14,000 for this Summer's work but it will all be worth it when we return to play in September.

Our Groundsman, Chris Pitt, has been brilliant this year and he is overseeing the current renovations.

I hope you are having an enjoyable break and all of us at the Club look forward to seeing you for the new Season in a few months!
