National 2 South stalwart to depart for new challenge next season

Clifton Rugby can today confirm that Dave Wheeler will leave the club in the coming weeks.

Wheeler joined the Club at the start of the 2015/16 season from Dings and has made over 70 appearances in the Lavender and Black whilst making 280 appearances in National League 2 following spells at Cinderford (8) and Dings Crusaders (202).

Wheeler has been one of the senior players in the squad and has driven standards on the field and played a key role in getting the squad to were it is today. Tenacity at the breakdown and superior set piece skills as well as remarkable handling have been hallmarks of his play over the last few years.

Clifton Rugby wishes Dave all the best in his new challenges and thank him for all is efforts and hard work over the last 4 years.

The club will be giving further updates on the squad development and player movement shortly as they move towards the start of pre-season training in June.
