Clifton vs Stroud
Clifton’s Started the Year with a Bang!
2 minutes in and Clifton have the first points on the board, a lovely try scored by Harry Rowson, it all started from a backs move down the line and Harry finished it off and a good strong start start by Freddie Vaughan to make the score 7-0.
8 minutes later clifton scored again with another backs move and to finish it off was Felix M-W. Unfortunately Luke didn't convert, however Clifton were leading 12-0.
1 minute later Felix was in again and with a strong kick from Freddie Vaughan to get the extra two points Clifton now had a good lead of 19-0.
18 minutes played and Toby is in with the forwards powering through for toby to put the ball down and score. Luke could not make this conversion leaving the half time score 24-0.
2 minutes in to the second half Felix has got his hat-trick try. Well done Felix! However another good attempt from Freddie but still the ball didn't go through the posts.
30 minutes played and Felix had his fourth. A lovely off load from Henry to set-up Felix inside Clifton’s own half and Freddie converted making the score 36-0.
The next try game from Toby with a dominant forward's pack owning the scrum and Toby picking up and diving over the line. Freddie unfortunately couldn't convert but the score moved on to 41-0
36 minutes played and Clifton have another one. The ball was passed down the line to Felix who was through. However magically the ball left his hands and made it to Max who was on his left who placed the ball down to score Clifton’s 8th try!
10 minutes to go and Clifton forwards have formed a rolling maul to allow Will. C to crash over the line to make the score 51-0
However Stroud wouldn't give up without a fight scoring two try's in very quick succession, both try's were scored when the boys started to tire and couldn't keep up with the play.
Final score 51-10
Special mentions - Toby's big hits early on in the game un-settling Stroud, also a special mention to all the forwards who worked extremely hard throughout. And to Tommy who was just on the right side of offside most of the time - which is exactly what we want for a number 7!
Clifton’s Man Of The Match, for owning his channel, making lots of forward runs and some well-timed off-loads was Henry K.
Well done Henry and well done everyone for a fantastic team performance.
