Clifton U13s were invited by Bishop's Stortford to tour to their club for the last game of their 1st XV season and enter an U13s Festival which saw 7 teams in total from as far away as Edinburgh.
18 boy squad meant lots of rugby for all. The rugby was immense, the hospitality welcoming, the fun & smiles non-stop. Some late nights, for the boys, which added to the fun.
What goes on tour stays on tour but the unanimous highlight for the boys, and parents was Elliot's first ever try for the Clifton. The cheers by parents and team mates was deafening. The next high light was the impromptu dance off outside the club house with parents from Bishop's Stortford....some great talent from both sides.
New friends at other clubs with invites for tours.
We also won the tournament which nobody, boys nor parents cared about as we had come to enjoy ourselves. In fact only time boys didn't smile when they picked up the cup!
The coaches also did not coach all weekend and as part of our new style let the boys do their own warm-ups, pick who were playing and make subs. Worked a dream so now it's time to find the coaches' retirement home....
