Matson RFC vs Clifton RFC u14's

The boys kicked off at 11:00 after a thorough briefing from the GRFU referee, with a healthy sized Clifton RFC squad of 20 making this Gloucestershire County Cup 1st round fixture.

In the 1st half there were tries from Sami Hamid (missed conversion, nearly took most of the Matson RFC team out!), Matson RFC came back immediately and scored their 1st with a missed conversion.

A 2nd try from Sami with conversion from Millan Rai, a third from Matin Daroush with conversion from Millan Rai and a 4th from Sami Hamid converted by Millan Rai leaving the score at 26 – 5 at half time. Both sides looked to be enjoying a competitive game with some stand out players in the Matson RFC giving the Clifton boys some healthy competition.

In the 1st half their was some fantastic tackling from Matin Daryoush, Luca Coogan and Connor Massey.

2nd half had try's from Ollie Brock converted from Jake Davies, Matson RFC came back with a try but a missed conversion. Sami Hamid scored his third with Jake Davies converting followed by a 3rd try from Matson RFC with a missed conversion.

Ollie Brock was flying for his 2nd try right under the post with Jake Davies converting. Sami Hamid finished it off with his 4th of the day and Jake equalling that with his boot.

Their was some great scrummaging, particularly in the 2nd half repeatedly pushing Matson RFC off and over the ball.
Millan Rai had a great run with an unselfish pass for Sami Hamid to score and Ollie Brock run from over the half way line was a lovely try.
Fair play to Matson RFC who put the boys under it a times and made us feel welcome at their ground.

Great to see Max Pullen and Wasil thriving with Clifton and really getting stuck in, with their 1st GCC experience.

Final score ended 54 – 15 to Clifton RFC great all round team performance from each and every player.
