It was the first competitive game of the season for Clifton u14's against Clevedon. Clevedon presented a competitive side who were prepared to play at their best till the very end with some good ball handling and team work shown throughout.
Clifton scored the first try, but Clevedon responded by also putting a try down. After a swift talking to from their coach the Clifton boys became very dominant once they started to work more as a team, supporting each other, dominating the scrums and moving the ball fluently allowing the forwards and the backs to work together which resulted in a great win for Clifton.
Clevedon were unable to break Cliftons strong defence throughout the match and was great to see how the Clifton boys had adapted to playing in different positions. The future looks bright for the Clifton boys and shows they can perform well when they play as a team.
Things requiring improvements are rucking, quick hands and communication but most of all enjoying the games. A special mention goes to George Carpenter for improvement on confidence levels when tackling and commitment .
