Dings: Clifton name side for derby

Dings: Clifton name side for derby

Mike Barber21 Dec 2019 - 12:09

Quinn, Bate, Gibbons and Levesley all start

Clifton have named their side to face local rivals Dings Crusaders today at Stationeries Road.
Clifton will be looking to bounce back following consecutive defeats at the hands of midtable opponents Redruth & Esher.

Dings have been boded by recent wins against Old Albanians and the return to form of a number of players. Stean William's men will look to stop a run of consecutive defeats against Clifton but will take great experience form their win here at Station Road in the dying minutes of Round 2 last season.

With the Christmas festivities almost here, the last game of the year promises to be a great clash between two of the cities closest rivals.

Luke Stratford is still unavailable, Jack Williams will pack down in-between Ricky Cano and Mark Roberts. Joe Quinn returns to face Dings for the first time since 2014 following his return from Hartpury and makes up a formidable second row pairing with Henry Harper.

The back row sees Niall Gibbons, Tom Wilson and Harry Bate retained and they will look to provide some dynamic power to proceedings.

Mitch Spencer joins Brad Barnes at flyhallf, with the centre pairing of Kieran Griffiths and Chris Levesley flanked by wingers Alex Lambert and Tom Jones. Fin Sharp is retained at fullback.
