That has been our Club motto for more than 150 years; it means ‘While we play, let us play’. I’ve always interpreted that to mean, enjoy every minute, do your best and squeeze every bit of fun out of every single minute. We can play our sport today because others gave their lives for freedom. Here at Clifton Rugby, we have lost many players to conflict, this cenotaph was dedicated in 1931 to their memory with these words:
