Clifton Rugby Club is proud to host the Ryan Bresnahan Memorial Match on Thursday 24 September, bringing together schools, players, families and the wider rugby community for an evening that has become a very special fixture in the calendar.

The event celebrates the life of Ryan Bresnahan, a Clifton College pupil and keen sportsman who died suddenly from Meningitis B in 2010, aged just 16. In Ryan’s memory, his family established A Life for a Cure, which has since raised significant funds and awareness in the fight against meningitis.

This year’s rugby gets under way from 5.30pm, with Clifton teams taking on opposition from Dean Close and Taunton School across several age groups, culminating in the senior fixture later in the evening.

There will also be a BBQ and refreshments available throughout the event.

Entry is £5 for adults, with proceeds supporting A Life for a Cure.

The evening is about much more than rugby. It is a chance for the rugby community to come together, remember Ryan, support his family and help raise awareness of meningitis among young people.

This year will also be particularly poignant following the death of Matt Salter, who played such an important role in driving the event forward over many years.

We hope as many Clifton supporters, members, players and families as possible will come along and support what promises to be another memorable evening at Station Road.
