Mitch Spencer will make his 150th appearance for Clifton when he runs out against Redruth this Saturday alongside Max Woodward and Henry Harper who are both making their 100th appearances in the lavender & black shirt.
Spencer signed for Clifton in 2014 and made his debut against Canterbury in the first game of the 2014/15 season and has since gone on to become club captain. Woodward makes his 100th appearance after his initial debut for the club in the 2015/16 season and has made a huge impact since returning from his stint at Taunton. Harper joined from Hartpury after winning the BUCS championship in 2016/2017 and has been a vital part of the side since his arrival.
All 3 have made huge contributions to the club over the last few seasons and they form part of an exciting squad looking to break Redruth's unbeaten away record this season when they visit Station Road.
Spencer forms the half back partnership once again with Luke Cozens, while Marcus Nel returns to captain the side at inside centre next to Bears' Harry Ascherl. The back three sees Alex Howman and Charlie Powell occupy the wings and Alex Forrester remains at full back.
Woodward forms part of a dynamic and physical back row alongside the leagues leading try scorer Brad Talbot at Number 8 and Gloucester's Jack Bartlett makes his debut for the club after signing for the Lavender & Blacks till the end of the season. The 120kg back rower linked up with Salters side two weeks ago and will add power to an already physical pack.
Harper and Joe Owen form the second row and the front row sees Nick Selway make his home debut alongside Ricky Cano and Alex Giltrow.
Tom Wilson, Kei Bergh, Tomos Gwilliam, Charlie Bullimore and Fin Sharp round out the 20.
"This is going to be a battle and we are relishing it; the boys have been bouncing all week and we can't wait to get out in front of our supporters and enjoy the occasion. It's made special by the achievements of Mitch, Henry and Max; they have worked hard and given so much to the club and what a way to make your 150th & 100th appearances. We know the challenge ahead of us, but we've said its about making memories and Saturday is another opportunity to go and do that."
Mike Barber, Assistant Coach
The game is the featured game on NCA Rugby's Weekly Round Up show and the 6 Nations will be showing live on the clubhouse screens following the match.
