Clifton have re-signed former openside flanker Max Woodward.
Woodward made over 50 appearances for the Lavender and Blacks between 2014-2017 before signing for National league rivals Taunton.
He went onto be a pivotal part of their rise before signing for Santboiana in División de Honor de Rugby competition, Spain. Woodward returns to a Clifton team to add yet more depth in the back row and ensure that there is stiff competition within the squad for the 7 shirt.
When asked about how we felt on his return to the club, Woodward said: "After a couple of years away, I'm buzzing to be back playing at church (Station Road).
We have a quality squad, I can't wait for the season to start and hopefully we can challenge for the league this season."
"Once we became aware that Woody expressed an interest in coming back to Clifton, we moved quickly to ensure we secured his services. His work rate and his conditioning is phenomenal and linking in open play is a real strength as well as his ability at the breakdown. The forward pack is quickly becoming an area of real depth and quality and he adds to that.] Matt Salter, Head Coach
Woodward is part of a number of signings joining the club this season, more of whom will be announced shortly.
