Shodimu Hat-Trick Wipes Out Whitehall

This Saturday saw the Misfits travel to bottom of the table Whitehall in what promised to be a physical battle. After seeing the Clifton 2nd team secure top spot in their league, the Misfits wanted to add to the day of celebration.

The game started with some strong carrying from the forwards in the middle of the park with a strong charge by second row Dan Owen drawing in multiple defenders and opening an opportunity for a miss pass to winger Jack Shodimu, who raced in to score the first try of the game.

Clever game management from the halfbacks saw Clifton exploit Whitehall down both wings which saw scrum-half Jack King get his first try for Clifton after running a strong support line off the shoulder of Shodimu, to gather the offload and score underneath the posts.

Whitehall struck back through their forward pack, running short lines off 10 to score. The resurgence was short lived however, as Clifton’s response was ruthless with the visitors adding a raft of tries including Shodimu racking up his hat-trick.

Despite a late resurgence by Whitehall who racked up three tries in quick succession, Clifton sealed the day with winger Patrice King putting the visitors out of sight.

Despite the result the Misfits know what they need to improve on when they welcome the league leaders BAC, to Station road in what is expected to be an enticing affair next week.
