unlucky at land rover

Clifton U12s played some great rugby at the land rover cup but were knocked out without losing a game. We started off with a good win against Stow, then beat Longlevens easily. Our final group game was against Minchinhampton, who had improved hugely since we last played them. We were the better team, but they sneaked over for a try in the corner, and the final result was 5-5. This put us through to the quarter-final against our old friends Lydney. In a tight game we were again the better side, but could not get over the line and the game ended scoreless (as the hooter sounded Lydney took one of our boys out with a high tackle, just as we had a 3-1 overlap). With no extra time playable, the semi-final spot was decided on count-back, which put Lydney through. In the two land rover cups this season we have gone out on the toss of a coin and countback!

More important than the result was the performance of our team, who are building nicely for the Gloucestershire Cup. Well done all.
