Good win for Clifton

Another beautiful sunny morning at Clifton – Those cold wet days of winter still seem far off.

The conditions led to an exciting open game against a good Frampton side. We took our chances well with scorers this week being Sam R (x2), Kyle and Monty. Kyle’s try was straight off the training ground with a well weighted kick from Elliot leading to a touchdown by the posts. Mathew converted all the tries (kicking just like Dan Biggar).

The forwards competed strongly with a well drilled Frampton pack but today it was the backs that excelled with all playing well – particular mention to Alex R and Mal for stepping up to fill the vacant centre position and to Shane for coming into the squad at the last minute due to injuries. The injuries are mounting up but things are looking good for the season with our strength in depth already coming to the fore.

Man of the match this week was Sam Read for his defence and strong running including his two tries.
