An impressive all-round performance saw Clifton overpower St Brendans to win by 41 points to 12 away from home.
Clifton dominated the scrums in the first half, creating the platform for five tries.
The scorers were: Luke Brenchley with a fine run down the wing; Sam Read with two bamboozling breaks; Herbie Gale with a glorious 15-centimetre lunge; Matthew Jones surging over with pace and power.
The second half saw a change of momentum in the game when the scrums were ordered to be uncontested due to a St Brendans injury.
This gave them more possession than they had had in the first half and they capitalised well with two tries.
But Clifton soon regained the ascendancy and replied with two tries of their own.
Louis Jones muscled his way over the try line after huge pressure on the St Brendans line and Matthew bagged his second of the match with another trademark strong run.
Matthew knocked over three conversions, while the other kickers - Hugo and Elliot - went close with their kicks.
Thanks to all the parents who provided great support, and thanks to St Brendans for their hospitality.
This was a good confidence builder before the cup game against Wells next week, with many players staking a strong claim for selection.
