Clifton U13's vs Old Bristolians

We were once again at Old Bristolians for a friendly fixture.

We had agreed in advance with the opposition that we would both give priority selection to those who did not take part in our recent Cup defeat.

Unfortunately for Old B's these changes did not weaken our team with the welcome return of a number of our squad who have been unavailable and an opportunity for others to show their skills.

The below report may be inaccurate as our lead reporter was not available and the deputy did not focus well on his duties!

We started strongly and were able to get some early scores through great work from the backs and forwards. Archie bagged an early hat-trick of tries with great pace and strength, the forwards showed some great continuity, effective mauling and strong running with Ryley scoring a well deserved brace of tries. Sam Read came off the bench to score a couple of tries with all the backs contributing with strong running and tackling. Our defence was strong throughout and as hard as Old B's tried they were unable to score. Many thanks to our hosts who always play in the right spirit and for the support of those who came despite not being in the team.

It was great to see the boys playing so well and it showed we truly have great strength in depth. This will help us in the new year with lots of cup games and other fixtures arranged.
